Questions and answers
Straight answers about what Evident does today — including what it does not do yet.
01
What is Evident?
Evident is a strategy studio for traders. You describe a trading idea in plain language; Evident turns it into explicit rules, backtests them on real market data with fees and slippage, checks how robust the result is (out-of-sample test, Monte Carlo, optimisation) and shows how much the numbers can be trusted. It also includes an indicator lab, chart reading, a news feed with measured price impact, rule-based bots and an AI trading agent.
02
How is it different from asking ChatGPT for a strategy?
A chat window gives you strategy text and stops there. Evident runs the strategy on real data, reports what actually happened, audits every rule against the data (for example a condition that is true on every candle, or one that never fires) and labels how reliable the result is. The AI writes; the engine measures.
03
Can the AI create new indicators?
Yes. In the indicator lab you describe what an indicator should measure, paste TradingView Pine Script, or write the formula yourself. The AI writes it in a small, safe formula language, the compiler checks it, and the lab measures on real data whether its values carry information about future returns (information coefficient, quintiles, stability across two halves). Any indicator can be exported back to Pine Script and used in strategies and bots.
04
Do candlestick patterns work?
On the markets we measured, mostly not on their own. In our open research, 22 classic patterns tested on the daily charts of BTC, ETH, SOL and the S&P 500 showed no statistically clear edge over an ordinary candle; many appeared too rarely to judge. The live numbers are on the research page, and you can measure any pattern on your own market in Markets.
05
Does Evident trade with my money?
Evident never holds your funds. Bots and agents start on paper with a virtual balance. Real orders need a separate, deliberate switch, and only work with an exchange key or agent wallet that can trade but cannot withdraw — keys with withdrawal permission are refused. On wallet venues such as Jupiter the agent never trades by itself: you confirm each swap in your own wallet.
06
What does the AI agent do?
The agent manages one position on one market. At every closed candle it reads the price, indicators, the chart reading, candlestick patterns and important news, and proposes to open, close or hold with a stop and a size. A deterministic risk engine checks every proposal: it enforces a stop, caps leverage and position size, limits the loss per trade and per day, and blocks shorts unless allowed. Every decision is written to a journal. For now the agent works on decentralised venues only.
07
Which exchanges are supported?
Bots support Bybit, OKX, KuCoin, Gate, MEXC and Binance (spot testnet; the live Binance network needs a relay because Binance blocks Cloudflare servers), plus Hyperliquid and Aster. The AI agent uses Hyperliquid and Aster for trading and Jupiter or KyberSwap for wallet-confirmed swaps. Real-money order paths are implemented but have not yet been verified with real keys on every exchange.
08
Where does the market data come from?
Crypto candles come from Bybit, stocks, ETFs and Borsa Istanbul from Yahoo Finance. News headlines come from 13 publishers such as CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, The Block, CNBC and MarketWatch; Evident stores the headline, link and its own one-line summary and links to the original article.
09
How does the news impact work?
Each headline is scored for tone and importance by an AI model. Then, 1, 4 and 24 hours after publication, Evident measures what the price actually did compared with the market as a whole. "After similar headlines" shows the median measured move of past headlines with the same category and tone, and only when at least 8 cases exist.
10
Is a good backtest a promise of future returns?
No. A backtest describes the past. Evident shows its reliability next to every result — number of trades, out-of-sample behaviour, Monte Carlo ranges, rules that never fire — precisely because a good-looking curve is easy to produce and often means nothing. Nothing on Evident is investment advice.
11
How much does it cost?
Creating an account is free; the tools (studio, indicator lab, markets, bots and AI agents) open with a plan: Starter, Pro or Elite, starting at 19 $ for 30 days. Every plan comes with AI credits that refill every 30 days, and a strategy costs between 3 and 15 credits depending on the mode. Credit packs top up an active plan for busy months and never expire. With your own model key (any OpenAI-compatible provider) AI work uses no credits. Backtests, optimisation and Monte Carlo run in your browser and don't use credits. Bigger plans also raise how many AI agents and bots you can run. You pay once with crypto for 30 or 365 days (USDC/USDT from a wallet, Solana Pay or OxaPay) and nothing renews by itself. Current prices and credit amounts are on the pricing page.
12
Can I use my own AI model?
Yes. Add an API key for any OpenAI-compatible provider on the account page. Keys are stored encrypted and are never sent back to the browser. With your own key, AI work runs on your account, uses no Evident credits, and the agent can decide more often. You still need an active plan to use the tools.
13
Can I export to TradingView?
Yes. Every strategy comes with Pine Script (and Python code in the balanced, deep and team modes), and every indicator from the lab can be exported to Pine Script v5 directly from its formula, so the calculation is identical.
14
Which markets and timeframes can I test?
Crypto pairs (for example BTCUSDT), US stocks and ETFs (STOCK:AAPL, STOCK:SPY) and Borsa Istanbul (BIST:THYAO), on timeframes from 15 minutes to 1 week. Futures backtests include leverage, funding and liquidation.
15
Is there a mobile app?
Evident is a progressive web app: open it on your phone and add it to the home screen. It works in any modern browser; there is no separate app store download.
16
Can I earn money by recommending Evident?
Yes, through the partner programme: partners earn a commission on sales they bring, with a two-level structure. Payments are recorded by Evident and paid outside the platform; Evident never holds customer funds.
